FCS Marquee Matchups Will Receive National TV Exposure

Yesterday was a fun day for college football junkies as conferences and television networks announced a bulk of games that will be on national TV.

Several FCS matchups were featured.

Week 0

Week 0, set for Aug. 24, features five games involving FCS programs.

The FCS Kickoff between SEMO and North Alabama, played in Montgomery, Alabama, will air on ESPN.

McNeese at Tarleton State is on ESPNU.

The MEAC/SWAC Challenge will air on ABC, featuring Norfolk State vs. Florida A&M in Atlanta.

An FCS vs. FBS matchup of Montana State at New Mexico will be on FS1. Keep an eye on this one for an FCS over FBS win.

Viewing options for Delaware State at Hawaii, another FCS vs. FBS game, are still TBD.

MVFC Gets 2 Conference Games On National TV

The MVFC will get 1-2 national TV games a year as part of its renewed multimedia deal with ESPN. In the first season of nationally televised regular-season games, the Valley got two premiere matchups with a national spotlight:

Oct. 19: South Dakota State at North Dakota State

Oct. 26: South Dakota at South Dakota State

Game times and networks are TBD.

SDSU, NDSU, and USD — three teams ranked in the Top 5 of HERO Sports’ FCS Preseason Top 25 — each have two regular-season games on national TV. NDSU faces Colorado on ESPN in Week 1. South Dakota plays at Wisconsin on FS1 in Week 2.

The anticipated Week 1 SDSU at Oklahoma State matchup will be streamed on ESPN+. UND at Iowa State that weekend will be nationally televised on FS1.

Big Sky Spotlight Games

The Big Sky has enjoyed nationally televised games for the last few seasons as part of its deal with ESPN. This year’s spotlight games are:

Oct. 12: Idaho at Montana State

Nov. 9: UC Davis at Montana

Game times and networks are TBD.

All four are ranked in our FCS Preseason Top 25 — No. 3 Montana, No. 4 Montana State, No. 7 Idaho, No. 21 UC Davis.
