Welcome to the 2021 FCS Jersey Countdown.
Leading up to Week 0 games on Aug. 28, HERO Sports is going to name the best returning FCS player by jersey number, 99-0. Due to rosters being updated at different times for teams across the country and to keep things consistent, jersey numbers are based on the 2020 fall-2021 spring season.

74: Garret Greenfield, OL (So.) — South Dakota State
SDSU had the best offensive line during the spring season en route to the program’s first FCS national championship game appearance. The Jackrabbits averaged 231.7 rushing yards per game and allowed just one sack a game.
The unit remains intact heading into the fall as the Jacks also return two All-American-level running backs in Pierre Strong Jr. and Isaiah Davis. With starting quarterback Mark Gronowski out for the season with a knee injury, relying on the run and keeping the new starter comfortable in passing situations will be key.
A big part of that protection is 6-foot-6, 295-pound right tackle Garret Greenfield. In his first season as a starter this spring, Greenfield instantly became one of the top big men in the FCS. He earned All-MVFC First Team honors and was named an All-American by HERO Sports, Stats Perform, AP, AFCA, Athlon, and Phil Steele.
Due to the free year of eligibility in 2020-21, Greenfield is listed as a fourth-year sophomore on the 2021 SDSU roster. He has plenty more games left in his college career as the Jacks are contenders to reach Frisco again.
