Syracuse vs. UNLV Prediction
I predict UNLV will win and cover the spread at -6.5. I also project the game will go Under 58.5 total points.
Questions swirled around this team when quarterback Matthew Sluka announced he would be redshirting for the rest of the season for reasons reportedly tied to NIL money. But UNLV proved it would be just fine during its blowout victory over Fresno State.
Hajj-Malik Williams threw for 182 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions while completing 13 of 16 passes and leading the Rebels with 119 yards and one touchdown rushing.
And defensively, UNLV has been stout all season. Despite their tough schedule that has included Houston and Kansas thus far, the Rebels have averaged 13.75 points per game given up. They haven’t allowed anyone to score more than 20 points.
I do think Syracuse has proven to be pretty solid on defense as well and already has a win over a team that was in the AP Top 25, Georgia Tech, earlier in the season.
But I think the Rebels are the better squad and are more well-rounded. At home, I think they’ll control this contest from the beginning.
