Boise State is not just one of the best Group of Five teams this season. The Broncos are beginning to prove they’re one of the top squads in the FBS.
The Broncos are 3-1 overall and are 21st in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 poll. Their only loss was a three-point game at Oregon. Their latest win was a 45-24 triumph at home over Washington State.
Now they will begin Mountain West play this week, as Boise State will host Utah State.

Utah State is a +27.5 college football betting odds underdog against Boise State, with the Over/Under being 65.5.

Utah State vs. Boise State Prediction
I predict Boise State will win and cover the spread at +27.5. I also project the game will go Over 65.5 total points.
With Heisman Trophy hopeful Ashton Jeanty at running back, the Broncos have liked to control contests through the ground game. And Utah State’s run defense hasn’t been great, as the Aggies allow 196.8 rushing yards per game.
I do think this game will be competitive early. I could see Utah State scoring a couple times in the first half and forcing Boise State to respond.
But ultimately, I think the Broncos will win in a similar fashion to the way they’ve won before. I’m anticipating Jeanty will have another phenomenal performance. I also think Boise State, after giving up a few touchdowns, will be better on defense as the contest goes on.
As the Broncos continue to score as I expect they will, I also believe they’ll force a few turnovers and put the game out of reach by the fourth quarter.
