0: Devin Wynn, RB (Sr.) — Furman
Wynn is a beast at running back. A tough guy to bring down with his physicality at 6-foot and 211 pounds, Wynn can also stick his foot in the ground and explode for a big play off of one cut.
In a subdivision filled with outstanding running backs, Wynn is one of four from the FCS to be named to the 2022 Reese’s Senior Bowl Watchlist.
As a true sophomore in 2018, Wynn started to make more of an impact on Furman’s offense down the stretch. He rushed for 96 yards, 112 yards, and 135 yards in the final three games, finishing the season with 113 carries for 722 yards and six touchdowns.
His 6.4 yards per rush in 2018 called for more carries in 2019. Wynn delivered, rushing 179 times for 1,182 yards (6.6 YPC) and 14 TDs. He also caught 13 passes for 141 yards and two scores.
Wynn was voted to the All-SoCon First Team by the media and the Second Team by the coaches.
In seven games in the spring of 2021, Wynn rushed for 511 yards and five touchdowns off of 107 attempts.
He is currently ninth in Furman history with 2,468 rushing yards.
“Devin is the leader of the group and a leader on our team, being a captain,” Furman head coach Clay Hendrix said. “He does everything well — runs with power and speed, and is a good receiver and blocker. He’s in the best shape of his career, and we’re excited about him having a big year.”
Named a co-captain for this season, Wynn is ready for more postseason accolades and to show he is one of the best running backs in the FCS. He was named to the All-SoCon Preseason First Team and is a Stats Perform Third Team All-American.
