Following four consecutive losing seasons, Bowling Green has gotten back to playing more competitive football the past two years.
That has resulted in back-to-back appearances in the Quick Lane Bowl, both which have been losses. Still, at least they’re getting there. Head coach Scot Loeffler seems to have the program in good shape as the Falcons look to make a run at a MAC East Division title and a conference championship this fall.
College football betting odds have the Falcons’ win total at 6.5, implying that they have a decent chance to do that, as well as get back to a bowl game. The Over is priced at +115 and the Under is -140.

How Many Games Will Bowling Green Win in 2024?
If bettors hope to cash on Bowling Green Over 6.5 wins, then they’ll likely have to rely on the Falcons to win five games in league play — which is how many they won in 2023.
BGSU should pick up a Week 1 win over Fordham, and the next game it will have a decent shot at winning is when hosting Old Dominion in Week 5. Any game against a Sun Belt team will be difficult, but I like the Falcons to win this one and pick up a win the following week at Akron.
Next up is a home tilt with Northern Illinois in a game both teams will need to win for conference title aspirations. This will pit BGSU’s improved offense against what should be a stout NIU defense. I think the Falcons will prevail here in what should be a fun one, and I believe they will win the following week at Kent State, putting them on a four-game win streak and at five victories on the season.
With five games remaining after that Week 8 contest against Kent State, and just two more wins to get there, the Falcons will be in good shape to go Over the 6.5 wins.
Bowling Green should be favored in two of those three remaining games — against Central Michigan and Ball State — and could easily be favored in a home matchup with Western Michigan. I expect the Falcons to win at least two of these and get to seven wins.
How Many Games Will Bowling Green Lose In 2024?
The Falcons didn’t exactly do themselves any favors with their non-conference schedule. Aside from what I think won’t be an easy win in that matchup with Old Dominion, BGSU will visit Penn State and Texas A&M. I don’t see the Falcons securing an upset in either of these games.
They’ll visit Toledo in Week 9 and then close out the season against Miami (Ohio) at home. While it’s possible the Falcons could snag a victory in either of these, I don’t like their chances.

Bowling Green Football Bet Prediction
I’m going to put my faith in Loeffler and this experienced group to stir some things up in the MAC and win five or six league games. This means they’ll need to win those two winnable non-conference games to go Over 6.5 wins, and I think they will with the help of running back Terion Stewart.
