31: Percy Agyei-Obese, RB (Sr.) — James Madison
Agyei-Obese watched and developed under older standout running backs in 2017 and 2018. In 2019, he took the torch as JMU’s top back and became one of the best rushers in the FCS, earning All-CAA First Team and HERO Sports All-American Third Team honors. He rushed 259 times for 1,216 yards and 19 touchdowns. The 19 TDs led the CAA and were fifth in the FCS.
The 6-foot, 205-pounder added another eight TDs in seven games during the spring as he totaled 717 yards off of 145 carries.
Agyei-Obese was an All-Conference First Team selection again and was named a Stats Perform First Team All-American and AP Second Team All-American. He finished 11th in voting for the Walter Payton Award, given to the best FCS offensive player.
The Dukes have speed and power in its group of running backs. Agyei-Obese provides a little of everything and has great patience, vision, and a knack for finding the end zone. His 29 career rushing touchdowns are ninth in JMU history.
Agyei-Obese ranks No. 6 in HERO Sports’ Top 25 returning running backs.
