Western Illinois head football coach Charlie Fisher has done his share of recruiting in his career, as has his staff. He knows what he likes in a player and he's willing to be patient to get it.
As we head into the holiday season, Fisher and and his staff received some news in the past few days that two more coveted prospects have decided they want to play for the potential playoff bound Leathernecks. Indiana native Luke Terrill had the eye of Eastern Illinois and Illinois State and had attracted attention from some Big Ten schools, but the lineman decided he liked what he was hearing with the WIU camp and decided to pledge. He was just a few days later by fellow lineman and Illinois native Mike Ross. They make it four commitments for Western Illinois.

"They showed that they they're truly interested in me," Terrill told HERO Sports. "They made me feel like I was already a part of the family. There wasn't a moment that I didn't feel like I fit in. They loved my physicality and size and not only that but my personality and blue-collar attitude. Never being afraid to get dirty and work hard, too."
They join with a highly coveted linebacker in Andre Whitley, who is rated the No. 22 overall prospect in the state of Missouri and a 2-star prosepct by 247Sports.com. Long snapping expert Erik Abrell will also come aboard with the 2017 class as a preferred walk-on.
