AMGTA appoints Sherri Monroe as new Executive Director
The Additive Manufacturer Green Trade Association (AMGTA) has announced Sherri Monroe as its new Executive Director. Effective immediately, Monroe will replace Sherry Handel as the organization’s second Executive Director with the goal of furthering the AMGTA’s aims globally in lieu of announcing the findings of its first commissioned life cycle analysis later this year.
Monroe has previous experience as the Regional Chief Development Officer and Executive Director of the Red Cross and has held past roles at the American Cancer Society and Siemens Energy.
“I am thrilled to be joining the AMGTA at this critical point in its development,” said Monroe. “Additive manufacturing has the potential to be transformational in how we sustainably manufacture, and it is our role of the AMGTA to help unlock this potential through rigorous research and industry outreach.”
Autodesk hires Ruth Ann Keene as Chief Legal Officer
3D design software developer Autodesk has appointed Ruth Ann Keene to the role of Chief Legal Officer. Keene has returned to Autodesk to lead the firm’s global legal matters, providing counsel the to CEO and Board of Directors and overseeing the company’s government affairs and public policy practice.
Bringing nearly three decades of experience in the technology and legal fields to the role, Keene held a previous 11-year stint at Autodesk before serving as Chief Legal Officer at Unity Technologies.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Ruth Ann back to Autodesk and look forward to her valuable guidance and expertise as Chief Legal Officer for the company,” said Andrew Anagnost, CEO and President of Autodesk.
“Her extensive experience advising platform and technology companies, innovative approach to legal matters, and familiarity with Autodesk make her a perfect addition for the needs of our customers, partners, employees, and communities at large.”
Vincent Rerolle appointed SVP of Corporate Development at Carbon
Industrial 3D printer manufacturer Carbon has announced Vincent Rerolle as SVP of Corporate Development. Rerolle brings 30 years of experience consulting technology firms on corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic alliances to the role, having held previous roles of the likes of Nauto, Lunera, Acquia, Cavium, Intel-acquired Wind River, and HP-acquired Mercury Interactive.
According to Carbon CEO Phil DeSimone, Rerolle’s experience in building software-powered businesses creates a strong foundation to develop a unified process for Carbon’s corporate strategy.
“Vincent knows from his software industry background that products aren’t consumed in a vacuum, and therefore, ecosystems facilitate adoption,” he said.
“We are ecstatic to have Vincent join the leadership team and will apply his experience building ecosystems through strategic partnerships at the forefront of innovation to Carbon.”
Palari Group to build 3D printed net-zero community
Moving onto facility news now, housing developer the Palari Group has partnered with Indonesian property developer Sinarmas Land (SML) to accelerate the development of its 200-home 3D printed net-zero energy community.
SML has acquired a 40% stake in jointly expanding the group’s pipeline of sustainable single-family residences, including the net-zero community which when completed will host 200 3D printed homes.
Collins Aerospace builds new 3D printing center
Rounding off the past week’s news is aerospace and defense supplier Collins Aerospace, which has added a new additive manufacturing center to its Monroe, North Carolina, campus. The center will support its subsidiary Raytheon Technologies’ aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) network.
The center will be equipped with two 3D printers, with more expected to be added in the future, and was built as part of a series of recent investments made by the company. The investment has also provided new equipment from streamlined operations, enhanced quality control, better employee safety, and an increased workforce at the site.
“Our Monroe site is one of Collins’ largest MRO facilities in the world, and the repairs we provide are essential to keeping our airline and military customers’ aircraft in service,” said Mary DeStaffan, Monroe site general manager for Collins Aerospace.
“We’re proud to call Monroe home, to continue to invest and grow in the community here, and to support the region’s growing aerospace cluster.”
